Mercurius Australia attended and sponsored the recent SEA GLaM 2024 Conference hosted by Chrysalis Steiner School. This was our first time attending the conference in person, with Simon, the CEO and owner, and Annette, the Operations Manager, representing our company.
We had a space at the conference venue, which allowed us to engage with principals, account managers, business school managers, and other attendees. Our goal was to showcase our business, discuss our services, and provide an insider look at our operations and the suppliers we work with. On the second morning we had the opportunity to speak directly to participants about these topics, from the stage.
One of the highlights was sharing how Mercurius Australia upholds important social, ethical, and environmental principles through our international network and suppliers. We also discussed our work supporting the Australian Steiner community and First Nations communities nationwide and locally. As Simon noted, "We work nationally and locally to support and contribute directly to our Australian Steiner community – through supporting school fundraising, Autumn and Spring Fair Raffles, School Events like the Wearable Arts at Shearwater, and of course sponsoring events like GLaM, the SEA Teachers Conference and regional Teacher Days."
In addition to what lives behind us, we provided an overview of Mercurius Australia's operations, services we offer, logistics, and upcoming improvements we have planned. It was a wonderful chance to connect directly with educators and administrators from Steiner schools across Australia.
On a personal note, we were deeply grateful for the chance to visit the beautiful Chrysalis Steiner School campus. Nestled in the Thora valley amidst stunning natural scenery, the school provides an idyllic environment for students.
We extend our sincere thanks to Lisa O'Donnell, Jeremy Street, and the entire Chrysalis staff and community for hosting such a superbly organized event and welcoming us so warmly. The Welcome to Country from Uncle Micklo and Brenton was an honour, providing an insightful introduction to Gumbaynggirr culture and language that we deeply appreciated.
Overall, the SEA GLaM 2024 Conference was an outstanding success for Mercurius Australia. We were able to share our story, connect with educators, and experience the hospitality of the Chrysalis community in their remarkable setting. We look forward to continuing our work supporting Steiner education in Australia.
