Choroi Wood Drums are rhythmical percussion instruments. Due to their shape and specially designed wooden surfaces, they produce a singing, distinctive wood tone.
A Choroi Wooden Drum is best played with the fingers to reveal the distinctive tone, which is clear and transparent, yet shorter than that of a standard drum.
Three different sizes are available in the range. Each has a polygonal body with wooden skins' glued to both ends allowing two different pitches for each drum. When played together, they allow for manifold timbres.
The body is made of ash wood, the striking surfaces are made of solid maple wood.
NOTE: The image shows all three sizes for comparison, the medium is the middle size shown.
